Here’s an update on all of the fantasy-relevant injuries you need to know heading into Week 17. As with every week, this article will be updated throughout the week as more is known regarding these injuries.

Note: Below, if I refer to an injury that I’ve previously described in detail, I’ll provide a link to that past article.

Quarterbacks

Andrew Luck is recovering from an abdominal strain, rib injury, and kidney laceration. He has yet to be cleared for contact. His timetable for return has been 6-8 weeks, so he should be close to returning.

A CT scan of his kidney would need to show that the laceration is fully healed before he would be medically cleared to play. If Denver beats Cincinnati on Monday night, the Colts are technically still in playoff contention—albeit a longshot. So, if they’re still in contention this week, and Luck has a “clean” CT scan, he’d suit up on Sunday. However, there are a lot of ifs in that scenario. As a side note, these injuries have no long-term concerns associated with them.
