Heading into kickoff time, a few top-tier fantasy players remain to be game-time decisions. They include: Matt Forte, Marshawn Lynch, and Alshon Jeffery. The following is a Sunday morning accelerated update on all of the top fantasy-relevant injury news.

As a reminder, there are five status designations players can have: active, probable, questionable, doubtful and out. The active and out designations are self-explanatory. The probable designation signifies a player has a greater than 50 percent chance of being active for the game. Questionable means the player essentially has a 50-50 chance of playing. Doubtful means the player has less than a 25 percent chance of playing.

Players already declared out include: Brian Hoyer, Andrew Luck, Sam Bradford, Peyton Manning, Ryan Mathews, Carlos Hyde, Malcom Floyd, and Eddie Royal.

Players listed as probable who will likely see their usual workloads include: Aaron Rodgers, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Teddy Bridgewater, Leonard Hankerson, Adrian Peterson, Ronnie Hillman, Eddie Lacy, Joique Bell, Alfred Morris, DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, Dez Bryant, Calvin Johnson, Nate Washington, James Jones, Doug Baldwin, Travis Kelce, Antonio Gates, Owen Daniels, and Nick Novak.

These players’ injury situations warrant a closer look this morning:

Quarterback

As an aside, Colin Kaepernick made the news this weekend, as he was put on season-ending IR. He is reportedly scheduled to undergo surgical repair of his left (non-throwing) shoulder labral tear on Monday or Tuesday, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL network. He’ll need six months of recovery time. This surgery will not affect his long-term production or fantasy value in any way.

Tony Romo has been activated from injured reserve – designated to return, and will get the start in today’s game. He’s returning from a left collarbone fracture. Full healing can take six to 16 weeks. Nevertheless, Romo’s fracture is healed enough for him to return to play.

He does have a slightly higher chance of refracturing this collarbone than the average player has of suffering the same injury. However, it’s not high enough to warrant any legitimate concerns. He’ll start today without any limitations. He’s back to being a QB1.
