After putting up four rushing touchdowns in Week 10, Marshawn Lynch has surprisingly shown up on the Seahawks injury report with a questionable status. The following is a break down of all the injuries of notable fantasy football players, including Lynch, heading into Week 11.

As a reminder, there are five status designations players can have: active, probable, questionable, doubtful and out. The active and out designations are self-explanatory. The probable designation signifies a player has a greater than 50 percent chance of being active for the game. Questionable means the player essentially has a 50-50 chance of playing. Doubtful means the player has less than a 25 percent chance of playing.

Quarterbacks

Carson Palmer suffered an ACL rupture during Sunday’s game. After the swelling in the knee is sufficiently reduced, the ligament will be surgically repaired. Because he only damaged his ACL, and not other structures in the knee, he has a good chance of being active for the beginning of next season’s training camp. As for now, he will finish the season on the season-ending IR. Drew Stanton is now the starting quarterback for the Cardinals.

Ryan Tannehill was a limited participant in Monday’s walk-through and Tuesday’s practice due to pain in his right shoulder and pain in an ankle. Specifics about the injuries have not been given—except that they are not serious. At this time, his availability for Thursday’s game is not in jeopardy. Saturday Update: Tannehill was active for Thursday’s game, and he led the Dolphins to a 22-9 win over the Bills.

Running Backs

Montee Ball has been out since Week 5 due to a Grade 2 groin strain. He was a limited participant in last week’s practices, and the Broncos are hopeful he will play in Week 11. Saturday Update: Ball practiced fully all this week, and he is expected to play on Sunday. It’s difficult to predict his workload for the game. The Broncos are expected to distribute carries between C.J. Anderson, Juwan Thompson and Ball.

Giovani Bernard was inactive in Week 10 due to a hip injury he suffered in Week 8—possibly a hip pointer. A hip pointer is a contusion to the brim of the pelvis, the iliac crest, and symptoms can include: localized muscle spasms, intense pain, decreased strength and reduced range of motion.

He did not participate in any practices last week. It is very difficult to determine the type and severity of this injury due to a lack of information. At this time, he should be considered week-to-week. His practice participation throughout the week will be the best indicator of his availability for Week 11. If Bernard does not participate in practices this week, his fantasy owners should be very concerned—because a hip pointer injury rarely takes that long to heal.

Saturday Update: Bernard did not participate in any practices this week, and he has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game. The length of time he has been out is now inconsistent with a hip pointer injury. The mechanism of his injury is inconclusive in the Week-8 game film. There is a reasonable chance Bernard is suffering from a gluteus medius tendon tear—which would explain the length of time he has missed. However, at this time, we are all still in the dark regarding the type and severity of Bernard’s injury. Jeremy Hill will continue to lead the Bengals backfield as Bernard is sidelined.

Reggie Bush continues to be limited by his chronic ankle injury—which seems to be a high ankle sprain. He was limited to only five touches in Week 10. His day was cut short after his ankle injury was exacerbated.  Saturday Update: Bush did not participate in any practices this week. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, and he will be a game-time decision. If he were to be active, it would be difficult for his fantasy owners to play him due to his high risk of having limited work—either by design or due to having exacerbated symptoms.

Arian Foster suffered a non-contact groin strain in Week 9. As discussed extensively during the offseason, Foster’s injury history has made him more vulnerable to suffering lower extremity soft tissue injuries. Additionally, his injury history suggests that he will need a minimum of two-to-four weeks of recovery time prior to returning to play—even if he has a Grade 1 strain. Because it’s unclear whether he is suffering from a Grade 1 or Grade 2 strain, an accurate prognosis for his return cannot be made. If he has a Grade 1 or low-level Grade 2 strain, he could return to play this week. It’s worth noting that his mechanism of injury is more consistent with a Grade 2 strain.

On Monday, Foster hinted to reporters that he thinks he will play on Sunday. At this time, he is considered day-to-day.

Saturday Update: Foster did not practice on Friday, and he was downgraded to out for Sunday’s game. It appears he is recovering from a Grade 2 strain. This acute injury has increased his risk of suffering further lower-extremity soft tissue injuries for the remainder of the season. Alfred Blue will lead the Texans backfield this week.

Ronnie Hillman suffered a midfoot sprain during Sunday’s game. A “midfoot sprain” is a generic term—not a specific diagnosis. That’s because there are multiple joints located in the midfoot that could be involved. The most common injury that is called a “midfoot sprain” is a Lisfranc injury.

It is encouraging that coach John Fox is calling Hillman day-to-day. That’s a good indication that the injury does not include any complete ligament tears or joint dislocations. Some running backs have been able to return to play with in two weeks of suffering a midfoot sprain. Others, however, have taken upward of six weeks to return. Saturday Update: As expected, Hillman was a non-participant in practices throughout the week, and he will be inactive for Sunday’s game.

Rashad Jennings has been inactive since suffering a sprained MCL (knee) in Week 5. He was a limited participant in last Thursday and Friday’s practices, and the Giants plan on him being a full participant at Wednesday’s practice. At this time, Jennings is expected to be active for Sunday’s game. Saturday Update: Even though Jennings was a limited participant in each practice this week, he is probable for Sunday’s game. He is expected to lead the Giants offense in carries, but Andre Williams will still absorb a decent portion of the workload.

Marshawn Lynch is for some odd reason listed as questionable on the Seahawks injury report for Week 11 due to a calf injury. He blew up in last Sunday’s game: rushing for 140 yards and four touchdowns. He was not injured in that game, and he did not suffer an injury throughout the week. He also practiced fully on Friday. Regardless of Lynch’s status on the injury report, his fantasy owners should start him with confidence on Sunday.

Doug Martin was inactive in Week 10 due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 8. His original mechanism of injury was more consistent with a high ankle sprain than a low ankle sprain. He was a non-participant in all of last week’s practices. Saturday Update: Even though Martin was a limited participant in Thursday and Friday’s practices, he has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game. Charles Sims and Bobby Rainey will share the backfield duties for the Buccaneers this week.

Ryan Mathews sprained his MCL (knee) in Week 2, and he has since been inactive. The Chargers elected to rest him through their bye, and he has been gradually increasing his participation at team practices. Saturday Update: Mathews has been a full participant in practices throughout the week. He will play in Sunday’s game, and he is expected to get the majority of the Chargers’ carries.

Khiry Robinson was inactive in Week 10, his third-straight missed game, due to a forearm injury. Specifics about the injury are still unknown. Saturday Update: Robinson will be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.

Pierre Thomas suffered a shoulder/rib injury in Week 7, and he has since been inactive. Saturday Update: Earlier in the week, the Saints were optimistic that Thomas would make his return to the field on Sunday. That is no longer the case. Thomas has been downgraded to out for this week’s game. Mark Ingram will continue to be the Saints backfield’s workhorse.

Wide Receivers

Andrew Hawkins suffered a thigh injury in Week 9, and he was inactive in Week 10. At this time, he is considered day-to-day. Saturday Update: Hawkins was a full participant in Friday’s practice, and he is listed as probable for Sunday’s game.

Devin Hester left last Sunday’s game early due to an ankle injury, and he did not return to play. The Falcons have not released any new information regarding his diagnosis or prognosis. The mechanism of injury evident in the game film is consistent with a low ankle sprain. Saturday Update: Hester was a limited participant in Thursday and Friday’s practices. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Panthers. He will be a game-time decision.

Allen Hurns suffered a concussion during Sunday’s game. He will need to complete the NFL concussion protocol prior to being cleared to play. The Jaguars are on bye this week.

Brandon Marshall suffered an ankle injury during last Sunday’s blowout game. His ankle was injured during a low single-leg open-field tackle. His ankle was hyper-everted and externally rotated. This mechanism of injury is more consistent with a high-ankle injury than a low-ankle injury. In fact, if he were to have had his foot planted in the ground during the tackle, he would have suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Coach Marc Trestman indicated he is optimistic that Marshall will play in Sunday’s game. Considering Marshall has had time to undergo an MRI on his ankle and foot, Trestman’s comments are seen as a positive sign that Marshall suffered only a mild sprain—as an MRI would have indicated a more serious injury. Saturday Update: Marshall’s ankle injury is relatively mild. He was a limited participant in Thursday and Friday’s practices, and he is listed a probable for Sunday’s game. His fantasy owners should expect him to play.

Allen Robinson will miss the rest of the season due to a stress fracture in his right foot.

Tight Ends

Jordan Cameron suffered a concussion in Week 8, and he has since been inactive. He will need to complete the NFL concussion protocol prior to being cleared to play. Saturday Update: Cameron has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Texans.

Brent Celek suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Monday’s game. He appeared to have suffered a mild low ankle sprain. Saturday Update: Celek was a full participant in practices throughout the week, and he is expected to play on Sunday.

Eric Ebron has been inactive since Week 8 due to a hamstring strain. He was a limited participant in last Thursday and Friday’s practices. At this time, he remains to be day-to-day. Saturday Update: Ebron has been a full participant in practices throughout the week, and he is expected to play in Sunday’s game.

Kyle Rudolph has been inactive since Week 4 due to having a surgical repair of a sports hernia. He participated in this Monday’s practice, and coach Mike Zimmer is optimistic that Rudolph could play on Sunday. Saturday Update: Rudolph was a full participant in Thursday and Friday’s practices. He is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Bears.

Delanie Walker suffered a concussion during last Sunday’s game. He will need to complete the NFL concussion protocol prior to being cleared to play. Saturday Update: Walker did not participate in Friday’s practice, but he was reportedly a limited participant in Saturday’s practice. If he is going to play on Sunday, he will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist prior to game time. He is listed as questionable.

Defensive Linemen

Nick Fairley suffered a sprained MCL and PCL in Week 8. He is expected to miss four to five weeks.

Chandler Jones could miss the rest of the season due to a hip injury. He is out for Week 11.

Linebackers

Navorro Bowman will resume practicing in Week 12. Bowman is still recovering from his recent knee surgery. He has three weeks to be activated. If he is not activated during that time, he will be placed on the season-ending IR.

Nate Irving is scheduled to have a season-ending knee surgery. He has been placed on the Broncos IR.

Patrick Willis was placed on IR Tuesday due to his chronic toe injury. His season is over.

Defensive Backs

Kam Chancellor is rehabbing from a groin strain. He was inactive in Week 10, but is listed as probable for this Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

Cortland Finnegan suffered an ankle injury during Week 10. He was inactive for Thursday’s game.

Troy Polamalu was inactive in Week 10 due to a knee sprain, and he will also be inactive in Week 11. The Steelers are planning for his return to be in Week 13, the week after their bye.

Carlos Rogers will be inactive in Week 11 due to a knee injury. He is considered week-to-week.

Alterraun Verner is out for Week 11 due to a hamstring injury.
