Fantasy football is all about the matchups, especially when it comes to wide receivers versus corner backs. Remember when fantasy matchup analysis used to be “Team A gives up the most fantasy points to wide receivers”? Well, we’ve moved from analog to digital and now look at matchups on an individual level. Each week, I dig through the actually coverage tendencies for all 32 NFL teams and compile this information in the WR/CB Matchup Chart, which is released on Thursday mornings.

Week 12 matchup upgrades

Julio Jones vs. Tampa Bay – It’s been a somewhat frustrating season for Jones owners, as the elite receiver has yet to put up a massive fantasy day. That could change this week with a plus matchup on tap against the Bucs. Jones will likely see plenty of Robert McClain, who is currently allowing a catch on 79 percent of his targets. Jones offers massive upside this week.

Doug Baldwin vs. San Francisco – Like he tends to do at this time of year, Baldwin is surging. He’s top-five among wide receivers in fantasy scoring since Week 7 and draws a fantastic matchup against the 49ers. Baldwin will see primary coverage from K’Waun Williams, who is allowing a catch on 78 percent of his targets this season. Baldwin is a strong cash game play in DFS.
