In our weekly DFS player stacks hunt, we start each week looking back at the previous week’s results to see how we well (or poorly) we did. We will also take into account any contrarian stacks I might choose to cover. Last week was an off week for this column after a strong string of plays in Weeks 3 and 4. The game-tempo advantage proved to be not enough for a Giants offense that can’t seem to figure out how to beat a Cover-2 defense in 2016. That stack tanked. The Ben Roethlisberger stack was solid, but we missed on adding Sammie Coates to the mix. Finally, the decision to go super cheap and stack Ryan Tannehill really backfired. I will not stack Tannehill again, I will not stack Tannehill again, I will not…
Let’s move on to our Week 6 picks.
DraftKings
Russell Wilson, QB; Doug Baldwin, WR (Seahawks vs. Falcons)
Just like we saw in Week 5, the cream-of-the-crop stack plays at quarterback come at the very top of the price range. Having said, Wilson has a very strong chance at being an excellent contrarian play in Week 6 with players like Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, Tom Brady and Cam Newton price around his range. We can expect a low ownership percentage for Wilson based on recency bias (Wilson had a bye week), the expectation that Saints vs. Panthers is the place to be in DFS, and the points chasers on Roethlisberger and Brady.
