The top player stacks for Week 5 in daily fantasy
Welcome to the look at the top DFS player stacks for the week. Every week, we’ll look back at the previous week’s results to see how we well (or poorly) we did. We will also take into account any contrarian stacks I might choose to cover. Last week was a pretty strong one. We started with the Joe Flacco/Steve Smith/Mike Wallace stack. This one hit for the most part given its price, although we would have been better off using just Flacco and Smith. The same can be said about our Philip Rivers/Travis Benjamin/Hunter Henry stack. Henry was a questionable call away from reeling in two touchdowns on the week, but Benjamin was best off faded in Week 4. We live and learn. Lastly, the Brian Hoyer/Jordan Howard/Zach Miller stack cost next to nothing and returned a ton of value. All three players scored higher than their salary projected.
Let’s jump right into the Week 5 action
Eli Manning QB, Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard, WRs (Giants vs. Packers)
A brutal Week 4 combined with an uncharacteristically slow start for the Giants’ passing offense — specifically from a TD standpoint — has resulted in a price drop for Manning and Beckham. Manning has just four TDs in four games after throwing for 35 in 16 last season. Beckham has zero TDs in four games after scoring 25 during his first 27 games in the NFL heading into 2016. The Giants’ offensive line is playing better than it has since Beckham entered the NFL — currently ranked as our No. 3 unit overall. Both Manning and Beckham are due for positive regression and I believe it will come in Week 5.
