The best fantasy QB options to stream for Week 11

BUFFALO, NY - OCTOBER 16: Colin Kaepernick #7 of the San Francisco 49ers gets rid of the ball before being sacked by Lorenzo Alexander #57 of the Buffalo Bills during the second half at New Era Field on October 16, 2016 in Buffalo, New York. (Photo by Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images)

The deeper into the season we get, the tougher it’s getting to stream the quarterback position. With 20 quarterbacks owned in more than half of ESPN leagues and only a handful of byes remaining, it’s more likely at this stage that your streaming options are between a couple of guys already on your roster than someone still sitting on the waiver wire.

For example, a couple of the recurring Twitter questions I received in Week 10 were whether to start Marcus Mariota over Ben Roethlisberger given the latter’s recent knee surgery, or whether to start Carson Palmer against San Francisco instead of Drew Brees against Denver. There was no wrong answer to the first question, although in the second, Brees has proven matchup-proof.

Here’s how last week’s streamers performed:

Week 10 Fantasy Points Fantasy Rank PFF Passing Grade
Jay Cutler 8 25th 28th
Carson Wentz 10 23rd 15th
Trevor Siemian 15 18th 25th

Notes: All three streaming options featured in Week 10 were ranked in the 16-18 range by our analysts, and while I laid out evidence that each had a chance to surpass those expectations, all three wound up disappointing. Jay Cutler had one of his better performances against Minnesota in Week 8, but coming off a bye, Bad Jay was back under center for the Bears against Tampa Bay… Trevor Siemian was harassed all day by the Saints’ pass rush, and it was reported after the game that he needed an injection to quell the pain from a shoulder injury that he’s apparently been dealing with since Week 4. Well, then… Carson Wentz had a decent day in the Eagles’ win over Atlanta, although both of the team’s touchdowns were scored by Ryan Mathews on runs inside the 5.

Looking ahead to Week 11, we’ll again tackle the most attractive of the streaming options that are either lightly owned or possibly parked on your bench. Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers are out of play, as the Falcons and Chargers join the Broncos and Jets on bye.

Below are the most attractive options for QB streaming in Week 11, listed by ownership and start percentages from ESPN leagues as well as FanDuel salary.

Week 11

Tyrod Taylor (BUF @ CIN) – 55.2% owned/$7,300 FanDuel salary

Taylor has been highlighted in this space a few times in this space, and you may recall a streak of his that I’ve mentioned throughout the season. Well, that streak is still going, as Taylor has notched at least 15 fantasy points and 25 rushing yards in eight straight games since the season opener. His ownership has gone down a few ticks as the Bills traveled to Seattle in Week 9 and then had a bye this past weekend.
