New England Patriots vs. Oakland Raiders
The Patriots lead the league in snaps per game and their contests average the third-most combined plays. Expect them to force the Raiders into a quicker-paced contest despite Oakland profiling as a volume-drainer for most of the season. Their games average the fewest total plays, although it’s up to 14th-fewest during the last month. The Patriots are the fifth-most pass-heavy offense (For brevity’s sake, all references to pass or run rates/percentages are in terms of neutral game situations. Unless otherwise stated, we will reference one-score situations to get a truer representation of game plan), and Oakland’s 12th-highest-graded run defense is a relative strength compared to their 26th-graded pass coverage. New England’s offense also ranks fifth-quickest on a seconds-per-snap basis.
