Week 9 fantasy start/sit advice

The most important decision a fantasy owner ever makes is the start/sit decision. You can have the best roster in the world, but if you pick the wrong starter in a given week it’s all for naught. Yes, you’re always starting Julio Jones and you’re (basically) never starting someone like John Kuhn, but the middle ground is rife with question marks.

That’s more true than ever in Week 9 of this year, with six teams — all with real fantasy relevance — on bye. Below, we’ll run through 20 of the top question marks for Week 9 and decide start or sit on them all. Obviously these decisions depend on the alternatives, but in a vacuum, these guys should see better (or worse) value than fantasy owners have grown accustomed to this week, and lineups should be adjusted accordingly.

Start

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys (at Browns)

Prescott didn’t throw a touchdown pass in his first two weeks, as he worked his way in to the Dallas starting role. Since then, he’s thrown nine touchdowns against two interceptions in five games — Tom Brady is the only quarterback with as many touchdowns and a better ratio. This week, the Cowboys face the Browns, who have allowed every quarterback they have faced this season (save the struggling Ryan Fitzpatrick) to pass for multiple touchdowns.
