What's happening with the fantasy quarterbacks?

SEATTLE, WA - SEPTEMBER 25: Quarterback Russell Wilson #3 of the Seattle Seahawks walks on the sidelines with his knee wrapped after coming out of the game in the second half against the San Francisco 49ers at CenturyLink Field on September 25, 2016 in Seattle, Washington. Aaron Rodgers was the original inspiration for this column, and last week he struck again. Rather than giving his signature wry smile and spelling out the state of being, Rodgers tried to lend some nuance to his reported decline and questioned how anyone other than his teammates would know whether or not there was a real problem. His “R-E-L-A-X” speech had a new edge in 2016. He even gave PFF a bit of a “shout out” in the process.

Then like clockwork, he went out in Week 3 and put up four touchdowns while defeating the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.

Aaron Rodgers is one guy. One player in a sea of fantasy options. And this year, many are asking, “Where have all the superstars gone?”

Peyton Manning had a brutal 2016, but prior to that he was a fantasy staple. Tom Brady has yet to play due to his four-game suspension. Without those two players there would be a void no matter what, but many of the “must-start” signal callers are struggling or started struggling in Week 3. Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Carson Palmer, Ben Roethlisberger, etc.

So what should we do? Should we R-E-L-A-X and let Aaron Rodgers take the wheel? Or is it time to throw some of these guys back into the pot and straight-up panic?

Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

Wilson reportedly suffered a sprained MCL this weekend, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport. Pete Carroll took Wilson out of the game after the big hit in the third quarter. The Seahawks were already beating the 49ers 27-3, so sending rookie backup Trevone Boykin into the game was a good (and not risky) call.
