Even though the AAF now seems like an afterthought with NFL free agency in full swing, we play to the whistle here at PFF. So the show goes on in AAF fantasy with our Week 6 fantasy football rankings and projections to help you set your season-long lineups and build your DFS lineups.

In case you’re just tuning in, Garrett Gilbert is running away with the top spot at quarterback. He currently leads the league in passing yards with an average of 271.8 per game. Gilbert’s eight passing scores is second only to John Wolford, who has 10 so far on the season. Wolford is locked into the weekly No. 2 spot. From there, you’re really throwing darts. That being said, be careful with Zach Mettenberger. Odell Beckham’s college quarterback is fourth among signal-callers in fantasy scoring over the last two weeks, but he faces arguably the league’s best defense in Salt Lake.

Trent Richardson enters the week as the No. 1 fantasy running back in the AAF, but looks are certainly deceiving. Despite scoring eight rushing touchdowns, Richardson is averaging an abysmal 2.4 yards per carry. The Iron are also starting to pivot some of Richarson’s workload to Brandon Ross. So this week, there’s a new No. 1 back on the block. Tarean Folston went from borderline droppable to last week’s top fantasy scorer at the position. With Akrum Wadley on injured reserve, Folston assumed every-down duties last week and was very efficient in the process with 106 scrimmage yards and two scores on 17 touches. Look for that workload to continue this week.

It continues to be a two-horse race at the top with Charles Johnson and Rashad Ross pacing the league in fantasy scoring. Ross topped the century mark in fantasy points last week thanks for his sixth receiving score for the season. All other wideouts in the AAF have combined for 17 scores. Johnson is right behind him with 90.3 fantasy points. He currently leads the league in yards (493), targets (40), and catches (29). After the big two, you have a mini tier of Mekale McKay, De’Mornay Pierson-El, and Jalin Marshall. All three are premium fantasy plays this week.

At this point, we may be better off just completely wiping our hands clean of tight ends in AAF fantasy. Over the first month of the season, Gavin Escobar looked to be the only sure thing at the position. But over the last two weeks, we’ve seen Marcus Baugh’s role continue to increase in the Fleet offense. There’s really no one we can completely trust at the position.
