There’s nothing quite like the optimism of Week 1. I’m sitting here trying to create a list of players I’m fading this week, and I keep finding reasons to like the player. I’ve said, “Yeah, but …” more times this week than I will throughout the rest of the season combined.
But the show must go on, so I examined the handful of lineups I’ve made and identified some of the bigger-name players that aren’t in any of them. So this is truly a list of players I’m completely fading in DFS this week in at least one format (cash games or tournaments). For the most part, these are the players I’m fading in both formats. If there’s an exception to that (and there are a couple) — I’ll call it out.

Quarterbacks
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals (DraftKings: $6,800; FanDuel: $7,700)
Our box-score projections have this game slotted to be the fourth-lowest-scoring game of the weekend. Dalton will be without top red-zone target Tyler Eifert, and wideout A.J. Green will likely be blanketed by Darrelle Revis all game. Dalton will have some big games this year, but Week 1 won’t be one of them.
