At the beginning of the week I went through all of the FanDuel pricing like normal. Except in Week 6, I couldn’t find the deals. The pricing seemed almost completely in line with the player fantasy value.
Where was that running back that was going to breakout but was priced like a backup? Where was that cheap quarterback I knew would carve up a susceptible secondary?
It was a wasteland.
Instead, I decided to build my team around a strong (i.e. expensive) quarterback and a pair of elite running backs. My basic reasoning is that I kept gravitating back to bargain wide receivers. It felt contrarian. It felt almost wrong. But at the end of the experiment, I felt pretty good about the results.
Here is my ideal FanDuel lineup for Week 6.
QB: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints ($8,500)
The home/away splits for Brees have been on point this season. In 2016, he’s put up 31.42 and 26.94 FanDuel points at home and then 14.52 and 13.84 points on the road. This week, he’s at home. Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons exposed this Carolina secondary when he hung 503 passing yards on them in Week 4. I’m looking for Brees to do much of the same. Brees is on pace for 5,072 yards and 40 touchdowns. Not sure he’ll reach those numbers, but let’s just say he’s still got it. In Week 6 he’ll be fresh coming off his bye week. And somehow he’s only the sixth-highest-priced quarterback on the week. I don’t know how you play FanDuel and not have at least a little exposure to Brees in Week 6.
