Well, it’s finally here – Week 16, championship week in all fantasy football leagues worth their salt (no one should be subject to Week 17 fantasy football, if at all possible). Your roster should be in pretty good shape if you’ve made your league’s final, but, on the chance it isn’t, or you’ve got some injury concerns, below are some waiver names to consider adding to your lineup in IDP leagues.
Defensive lineman
Denico Autry, Oakland Raiders
If you’re looking for a Hail Mary-type play in Week 16 at a defensive lineman spot, you’ll want to consider Autry. Firstly he gets the best possible matchup in the Colts. Over the last five games, Andrew Luck has been subjected to eight sacks, 34 hits and 68 hurries, so it’s been far from stellar protection for the Colts star player. On top of that, the Raiders’ primary pass-rush threat is Khalil Mack, the top-scoring fantasy defensive lineman this season, so he’ll be the focus for the offensive line. That leaves Autry staring down the barrel of 1-on-1 matchups all game, against the league poorest protection unit. Autry’s form over the last five weeks has been solid (11 total tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble), and although he’s yet to record a double-digit fantasy score, this is the matchup that could do it in. Autry profiles as a boom-or-bust low-end DL2.
