Week 14 was the week of the season so far in the NFL. Not only were the potential playoff previews of New Orleans/Atlanta, Minnesota/Carolina, Philadelphia/Los Angeles, Seattle/Jacksonville, and Baltimore/Pittsburgh all super competitive, but a blizzard elevated the Indianapolis/Buffalo game to the game of the day despite the teams’ combined nine wins entering the week. This was just the fifth week this season where more than 30 percent of total plays run were run with the win probability between 40 percent and 60 percent. That’s great for fans, but not so great for fantasy players looking for some garbage-time scoring. Still, there were a few standout garbage performances this week, led by Russell Wilson.
Quarterbacks
With Carson Wentz’s season likely over, momentum will undoubtedly build for Wilson’s MVP case. Just don’t use his performance against the Jaguars as evidence he deserves it, however pretty his 273 passing yards, 50 rushing yards, and 3 touchdowns look in the final box score. When the game was still in doubt, Wilson threw for just 114 yards on 4.8 yards per attempt and 1 score, and he also threw 2 interceptions. He racked up his remaining 2 touchdowns and 157 passing yards on 22.4 yards per attempt in garbage time.
