What are the best FanDuel tournament and GPP strategies and players for optimal DFS lineups during Wild Card Weekend in the 2018 NFL season? This piece will run through each by offering up chalk plays, contrarian plays, and stack options — all from a tournament perspective.
You can find my favorite plays of the weekend in my Wild Card weekend DFS Locks article. So as not to regurgitate the same info about my top plays, this article will focus more on contrarian plays while briefly mentioning chalk options.

Quarterbacks
Chalk: Andrew Luck ($8,000). He’s $400 cheaper than Deshaun Watson but offers the same floor/ceiling combination in a game with the highest over/under (49) and most shootout potential. Luck averaged 431.5 passing yards per game in two contests against Houston this year.
Contrarian: Mitchell Trubisky ($7,700). The Bears/Eagles tilt has the lowest projected over/under (41), but it’s also my favorite game from a GPP perspective because it has such a wide range of outcomes (and so does Trubisky). We project him to be just 8% owned, second-lowest among this week’s quarterbacks, and the game is in Chicago, where Trubisky has been significantly better.
Contrarian: Nick Foles ($7,300). The Eagles have averaged over 28 points per game with Foles over the last three weeks, with Foles scoring 10.3, 31.94, and 16.24 fantasy points in each game. The difficult matchup (against Chicago in Chicago) and Foles’ high variance will keep his ownership low; we project him to check in under 5%. But that same high variance and low ownership make him a favorite GPP target of mine.
