We’re in prime trade deadline season, so this might be your last chance to either get that missing piece for your championship contender or get a head start on your rebuild. We’re through 10 weeks of the 2016 season and there’s much more data to sift through in order to identify who might be a good fit for your team. Below are players that have been in the news lately that you should either be buying or selling in dynasty leagues.
Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys (for now)
Few people would have predicted the Cowboys to have the best record in the NFL at this point in the season without Romo at the helm. After breaking a bone in his back in the preseason, Romo had been sidelined the entire season, allowing Dak Prescott to go on his amazing run, a run so incredible it pushed Romo to backup status as of this week. And unless Prescott completely falls off a cliff, which is possible for any rookie, it looks like Romo’s time as the Dallas starter might have come to a close.
So what do you do with him in dynasty leagues? After all, with so many quarterbacks playing at a high level well into their late 30s, Romo, 36, would not be an outlier. Players such as Tom Brady (39) and Drew Brees (37) continue to play at a QB1 level. And make no mistake, when Romo is out there, he plays at a high level. From 2011 to 2014, he was a top-13 PFF quarterback every single season and averaged more than 30 touchdowns a season during that stretch.
