Welcome to the 2019 Divisional Round DraftKings GPP guide! After a slow, low-scoring Wild Card Round, the Divisional Round looks to pick up the pace and scoring making for an entertaining DFS week. This tournament overview will cover some of the top core plays, stacking options, and some low-owned contrarian darts that could help pay off handsomely and hopefully lead to you taking down a tournament. Whether you’re looking to continue to ride your 2018 success into the postseason or just looking to keep playing fantasy football now that the regular season is over, the smaller nature of NFL playoff DFS makes it an exciting challenge for everyone.

Chalk plays

Ezekiel Elliott ($8,200)

Once again, we’re kicking things off prioritizing volume. Zeke led the league in touches per game during the regular season (25.4) and we saw that continue in the Wild Card Round where he racked up 26 carries while catching 4 of 5 targets. His receiving work makes him a gamescript-agnostic play with the Cowboys prioritizing getting him the ball whether they have a lead or not. The Rams currently project for a 7.5-point spread, indicative of what could be a pass-heavy attack by Dallas. Elliott remains a three-down back more than capable of holding his own as a receiver out of the backfield (1.38 yards per route run, 15th-best rate among qualifying running backs). Elliott’s line also gives him the largest run-blocking advantage against a Rams front that allowed over 5.0 yards per carry the final month of the regular season.

Todd Gurley ($8,000)

$8K for Gurley? That is definitely the cheapest we’ve seen him all season. Following a four-week hiatus, Gurley enters this matchup well-rested and as big 7.5-point home favorites against a travelling Cowboys defense. Dallas did a fantastic job last week limiting Seattle’s one-dimensional rushing game plan. They now face the multi-dimensional Gurley who finished the year top-10 among running backs in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Sean McVay’s done a fantastic job all year with offensive formations and getting Gurley in plus-matchups, running when the Rams have the advantage against defenders in the box and passing when they don’t. It’s difficult to foresee Dallas (our No. 20-graded run defense) slowing down the versatile Gurley.
