The DFS landscape has completely changed now that we have reached the NFL playoffs. With so few teams in action, the stack possibilities shrink. In the NFL playoffs, DFS comes down to exploiting individual matchup and utilizing game theory to your advantage. It now makes even more sense to stack quarterbacks with running backs and sometimes with their wide receivers and tight ends as well. Today, we will focus on delivering you the best stacks on the Divisional slate while factoring in their prices, matchups, and also the probability that they will be owned.
Tom Brady, QB, Dion Lewis, RB, and Brandin Cooks, WR, New England Patriots
Diving into the Patriots stacks will be one way to give yourself the best chance to win a tournament on this specific slate. Normally, we would be more risk-averse to playing stacks with high ownership all but guaranteed and a high price tag accompanying them. In this slate, it’s impossible to avoid the only great matchup on the slate as the Patriots are double-digit favorites against a defense that has allowed fantasy points on a consistent basis this season. This specific stack allows you to grab the best value on the entire slate in Lewis (who has scored 30 points or more on DK in his past two games) while also avoiding the highly owned Rob Gronkowski. Cooks may look like a bad play due to his matchup against surprisingly efficient rookie cornerback Adoree’ Jackson, but the Titans were more prone to allowing big passing plays than you would think — they allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to opposing WRs this season.
Case Keenum, QB, and Adam Thielen WR, Minnesota Vikings
Aside from Brady’s matchup against the Titans defense, Keenum may have the next best matchup on the entire slate. Sure, the Saints defense has improved dramatically in 2017 and since Week 1, but there is no denying that Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur scheme carved them up earlier this year. In a home matchup, we love the idea of avoiding lockdown cornerback Marshon Lattimore and targeting Thielen, who is set to draw P.J. Williams in coverage. Thielen racked up 157 receiving yards and nine receptions on 10 targets in Week 1 and only drew Lattimore in coverage on two total targets.
