The top player stacks for the Conference Championships in DFS
The DFS landscape has completely changed now that we have reached the NFL playoffs. With so many fewer teams in action, the stack possibilities shrink. In the NFL playoffs, DFS comes down to exploiting individual matchup and utilizing game theory to your advantage. It now makes even more sense to stack quarterbacks with running backs and sometimes with their wide receivers and tight ends as well. Below, we will focus on delivering you the best stacks on the Conference Championship slate while factoring in their prices, matchups, and also the probability that they will be owned.
Tom Brady, QB, Dion Lewis, RB, and Danny Amendola, WR, New England Patriots
We’ve been shying away from Brady stacks for most of the season due to their high ownership and high price tag. That is no longer an acceptable plan of attack with only four teams on the slate. Still, you can stack Brady and avoid running into a high-ownership pairing by avoiding Rob Gronkowski. This plan of attack will also give you a more unique lineup than those who are jamming Gronkowski into lineups as one of this slate’s more obvious plays. You will still pay up for Brady in this stack, and Lewis to some extent, but you’re guaranteeing a high-volume pairing of Patriots skill position players. Last week, Lewis and Amendola combined for 23 targets. With the Jaguars’ dominant outside cornerback duo on tap, it seems likely the Patriots will lean on these two again.
Tom Brady, QB, and Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots
In a four-team slate, you should not completely avoid the most obvious stack altogether. I would advise to play Brady and Gronkowski in a much smaller percentage of your GPPs than other analysts would, but I still believe they are worth their price tag and then some. The Patriots have the highest implied points total on the entire slate and there is a chance the Eagles-Vikings came could be very low scoring. If Brady leans on Gronkowski against a Jaguars secondary so dominant on the boundary, knowing there’s less to lose with only two games left to avoid injury, you’re going to want to have this stacked in your GPP lineup.
