DFS guide: Week 2 in FanDuel cash games

ORCHARD PARK, NY - OCTOBER 30: Charles Clay #85 of the Buffalo Bills carries the ball during NFL game action as Patrick Chung #23 of the New England Patriots moves in to tackle him at New Era Field on October 30, 2016 in Orchard Park, New York. (Photo by Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images)

Week 1 didn’t go as planned across the board, but some of our cash game suggestions from last week panned out. Carson Wentz and DeShone Kizer were both fantastic cash quarterbacks. Ditto for the Zach Ertz, Charles Clay, and Austin Hooper suggestions.

But we did completely whiff on the running backs — along with everyone else in the world. This week, I’m targeting the passing games for the week’s two most explosive games: Atlanta vs. Green Bay and New Orleans vs. New England.

Here’s my FanDuel Week 2 strategy guide for cash games, with a few suggested picks along the way.

Week 2 outlook: FanDuel pricing and projections

Tier Definitions

1 2 3 4 5
QB $8000+ $7500-$7900 $7000-$7400 $6500-$6900 $6100-$6400
RB $8000+ $7000-$7900 $6000-$6900 $5000-$5900 $4600-$4900
WR $8000+ $7000-$7900 $6000-$6900 $5000-$5900 $4600-$4900
TE $7000+ $6000-$6900 $5500-$5900 $5000-$5400 $4600-$4900

The Box: The first row within each tier represents the average salary of every player in that tier. The second row represents the average projected fantasy points for every player in that tier. The third row is the average value of each player in that tier (points/salary*1000). The Box is also color coordinated within each position throughout the tiers.

Quarterbacks

I typically like to pay down at quarterback in cash games, but it’s easy to love the expensive quarterbacks this week. The Box shows us that expensive quarterbacks are worth their salt this week.

Aaron Rodgers ($9,100), Matt Ryan ($8,200), Tom Brady ($9,200), and Drew Brees ($8,700) are all in smash spots — and they are all playing against each other. The GB-ATL tilt has an over-under of 54 points, and the NE-NO game is expected to produce 56 points.
