(This is Week 12 of the NFL season. Each week, the PFF Fantasy cheat sheet will have all the relevant fantasy football content for the week in one place for you to keep track and review as needed as you prepare for that week in fantasy football.)

“You can’t take it with you,” when referring to real money, is weird advice. Encouraging people to spend all their money now really ignores all the time between that moment and death, and if you take it to heart, you’re going to have a bad time.

But that’s real money.

Saving FAAB in fantasy makes even less sense than saving your real dollars. If you make it to the fantasy playoffs and still have dollars left, odds are good you’ve made a mistake somewhere.

The best opportunity for FAAB spending this season came this week. Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards are the obvious headliners, plus Josh Adams for leagues in which he wasn’t already snapped up. I bid every penny on Edwards in the league where I had money remaining, but was beaten by someone who still had more, so the money instead went to Adams. I will likely keep him on my bench (behind James White, Joe Mixon, and Marlon Mack, hanging out with Peyton Barber), but you never know, and it’s not like that money’s going to do me any good anywhere else.

You can’t take real money with you. But you really can’t take fake money.

On to the Week 12 advice.
