It’s been a wild ride throughout the studs and duds of best-ball formats, and if you’ve missed any of them, you can check them out right here (quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers).

But here we are, at the finale, covering one of the most volatile positions in all of fantasy football – the tight end. But there are actually players who are more consistent than you may have thought, as well as ones who offer tremendous upside, but a low floor.

By the time we get done here, you’ll know which tight ends to target in best-ball leagues, as well as which ones you should avoid, simply because they don’t offer you enough upside on a weekly basis.

Julius Thomas Jaguars: Trying to justify drafting a tight end with one of your first four picks is a tough task, which is where Thomas was being drafted over the last couple seasons. It was with good reason, but now that you’re seeing him fall to the eighth and sometimes ninth round of best-ball drafts, it’s time to pounce on the touchdown machine.

His 29 touchdowns over the last three seasons lead all tight ends, and that is despite him missing 10 games in the process. While most tied his touchdown numbers to Peyton Manning, Thomas found his groove in the Jaguars offense a couple weeks after returning from his broken finger, and scored four touchdowns over the final seven games.
