A beginner's fantasy guide to MFL10s
The 2016 season is in the books and you’re already thirsty for more. Fantasy draft season never feels so far away as during a Super Bowl hangover. Hopefully your actual hangover subsided Monday, and luckily, administering MFL10s can soothe any remaining ailments. These increasingly popular contests that the cool kids degenerates talk about all offseason are calling your name, but for the uninitiated, apprehension is understandable.
Can I buy MFL10s over-the-counter?
MFL10s (or MFL25s, MFL50s, or MFL100s) are hosted by the fine folks at MyFantasyLeague.com — hence the “MFL.” The 12-team leagues are offered at $10, $25, $50 and $100 buy-in levels. The lion’s share of the pot goes to the winner, with smaller prizes for second place (and third place in the higher buy-in level contests).
Draft strategy is, in fact, the only strategy. MFL10s are “draft-only” contests in which, once 20 rounds of player selection are complete, your work is done. There is no free agent bidding or lineup-setting tedium – freeing us to join more drafts without adding in-season tasks to already-full fantasy plates.
Each week, MyFantasyLeague calculates scores using a “best ball” approach, automatically setting the optimal starting lineup – which consists of one quarterback, two running backs, three wideouts, a tight end, a defense, and a flex spot (RB, WR, or TE). We don’t have to try to figure out if it’s a “Blount week.” Every week can be a Blount week.
