Eric Berry is Week 13's must-add IDP pickup
It continues to be tough if you’re looking for defensive ends on the waiver wire, with few big-name opportunities available unless other owners have gotten impatient with an underperforming player. But there are still some interesting names to consider at linebacker and defensive back this week.
In his first game back, Charles Johnson was given the start by the Panthers. But he only played 26 snaps, fewer than both Jared Allen (35) and Kony Ealy (33), who have been decent in his absence. While I’m not convinced Johnson gets the same quota of snaps he did pre-injury because of the Allen and Ealy tandem, it is unlikely there is a player with higher upside than Johnson on the wire, making him a pickup and stash this week.
With Robert Quinn remaining on the sidelines, William Hayes has been his on-field replacement for the Rams. He’s started the last six games and been a positive presence, grading +17.9 on the season and scoring as the eighth-best defensive end since he became a starter, averaging 8.7 points per game. Hayes is worth adding as a borderline DL2/3 for as long as Quinn stays on the sidelines, or in a limited role.
