Fantasy Preview of the Mountain West Conference West Division

TUCSON, AZ - DECEMBER 29: Running back James Butler #20 of the Nevada Wolf Pack leaps over safety Trent Matthews #16 of the Colorado State Rams as he rushes the football during the fourth quarter of the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl at Arizona Stadium on December 29, 2015 in Tucson, Arizona. In 2015, San Diego State happened to be the only team from the West to finish with an intraconference winning percentage above .500, compiling an 8-0 division record and an 11-3 season. Nevada and San Jose State should be in line to improve, but the outlook is not as bright for the remaining teams in the division.

Fresno State Bulldogs

Head coach Tim DeRuyter inherited a great situation upon taking the reins of Fresno State in 2012. Outside of the Bulldogs struggling to a 4-9 record in 2011, the program had produced a winning record dating back to 2006. As the cheery on top of the situation, QB Derek Carr had only just completed his redshirt sophomore season with 3,544 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. DeRuyter’s first two seasons resulted in a 20-6 record and Carr posting averages of 4,593 yards and 43.5 touchdowns.
