Fade Deshone Kizer in Week 12 CFB DFS

There are only two weeks left until conference championships, and many of the top rated teams in the country have pivotal games against conference rivals this week. Ohio State plays Michigan State in what will likely decide which team will represent the Big Ten East in the conference championship game. The Big 12 has two marquee games in TCU vs. Oklahoma and Baylor vs. Oklahoma State. If both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State win, that sets up what would unofficially become the Big 12 championship game with a likely birth in the college football playoffs on the line.

With all the big games going on around the country, we have to remember that big name teams and players don’t always make for big time plays in DFS games. Last week, we warned against using Josh Doctson, due in large part to his injury, and the TCU receiver was held to just one catch for 12 yards against a winless Kansas team. Sometimes, the best play you can make is one that features players who aren’t on national television and will be looked over by most DFS owners because they don’t know who a player is or what he has done in his last few games.

Being a successful DFS player, no matter what game you play is as much about reflection as it is about predicting who will have success in future games. In order to learn how to win, you have to learn from your mistakes and try to understand how building a balanced lineup will work in one type of game, and using a few elite players and filling in the roster with minimum salary guys works in another style of game.
