There's an old myth in IDP leagues that middle linebackers score better than strong side linebackers. This just simply isn't true. The key to IDP production at the linebacker position is subpackage snaps. It's vitally important to be aware of which players see snaps in the base and subpackage defenses.
Each week, we'll chart how each team deploys their linebackers to give you an edge over the rest of your league.
Of course, there are a ton of situations we need to pay attention to around the league. So here are a few notes on the three-down linebacker chart below.
Justin Durant left last week’s game in the first quarter with an elbow injury, and Joplo Bartu came on to replace him and played every defensive snap for the remainder of the game. IDP veterans likely remember Bartu from the past two seasons, when he’s played an every-down role at times. Durant missed practice on Wednesday, and his status is very much up in the air for Week 5. Bartu might be worth a desperation play for owners in need in deep leagues.
