The Oakland Raiders select Maurice Hurst 140th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft

With the 140th selection of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders have selected Maurice Hurst. The former Michigan interior defender was selected 140th overall after finishing the 2017 season with an 96.8 overall grade. Hurst was one of only two draft-eligible defensive tackles to register a top 10 mark in both run-stop percentage and pass-rushing productivity.

  • Hurst ranked ninth among draft-eligible defensive tackles in run-stop percentage (10.4), but ranked third in total run stops (31).
  • He had the highest pass-rushing productivity among draft-eligible defensive tackles every year of the last three years.
  • Hurst led all draft-eligible defensive tackles in total pressures (49) this year and his 23 hits and sacks combined led draft-eligible defensive tackles in 2017
