  •  The Jacksonville Jaguars selected ex-LSU running back Leonard Fournette with their first-round pick in the NFL draft Thursday, fourth overall.
  • Although he did not have such a strong season in 2016, Fournette’s overall grade of 96.1 in 2015 is the highest earned by a running back over the past three years.
  • While he ranked low with an average of 2.84 yards after contact in 2016, he averaged 3.65 yards after contact in 2015, 18th in college football that year.
  • He broke 95 tackles in 2015, which is the second-most by a running back in a single season over the past three years. Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon combined to break 39 tackles last season.
  • Fournette’s capability to play on third downs has been questioned due to how he can contribute to the passing game. Although he allowed only four pressures over the past two seasons, he stayed in to pass protect on only 105 snaps. Incumbent Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon logged 100 pass-blocking snaps in 2016 alone.
  • Was not used heavily as a pass-catcher at LSU as he ran a route on only 255 plays over the past two seasons and averaged only 1.57 yards per route run; however, Yeldon ranked just 36th in the NFL with 1.02 yards per route run in 2016.
