Jamal Adams edges Malik Hooker as a run defender

  • Former LSU safety Jamal Adams totaled eight more run stops than fellow top safety prospect Malik Hooker last season despite seeing 33 fewer run plays in 2016.
  • Adams recorded just five missed tackles when playing the run last season, three fewer than Hooker.
  • Adams’ 5.1 percent run-stop percentage ranks T-14th among all safeties entering the 2017 NFL draft, while Hooker, on the other hand, recorded a 2.6 percent run-stop percentage (T-62nd).
  • In college in 2016, Adams had an overall grade of 89.2 (83.1 against the run). Hooker had an overall grade of 80.8 (60.6 against the run).
