Bengals pick up defensive help, draft Lawson 4th

  • With the 116th overall pick in the NFL draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected edge defender Carl Lawson out of Auburn.
  • Lawson was PFF’s 15th-ranked prospect overall because of his pass-rushing skills, but ultimately fell to the fourth round due to injury concerns.
  • Lawson's 15.2 pass-rush productivity ranked 12th among all edge defenders in this year's draft class.
  • Lawson only lined up inside the tackles on 11 snaps in 2016, but managed 5 total pressures when doing so.
