2019 NFL Draft Profile: WR Marquise Brown, Oklahoma

When looking at generating separation, there may not be a better receiver in this draft class than Oklahoma wideout Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. The Sooners standout comes in at No. 31 on PFF's big board and is an elusive receiver with great after the catch ability.

On targets of 10-plus yards downfield, Brown broke away from his primary coverage defender to become wide open on 60% of his targets. No wide receiver in this class has generated more open targets these past two seasons combined than Hollywood.

Brown forced a missed tackle on 24% of his 75 catches this season. His elusiveness and ability to generate separation gives him the potential to become a breakaway threat in the NFL.

If Brown doesn’t escape from his coverage defender, he has struggled with catching the ball. During these last two seasons when his separation was less than a step, he has dropped 10 of his 62 targets. In addition, his 3 contested catches in 2018 was the lowest mark among PFF’s top receivers.
