2019 NFL Draft Profile: QB Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State

As PFF’s second-ranked quarterback in the class and the 10th-ranked prospect overall, Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins impressed with his accuracy in the pocket. However, there are questions surrounding his play when he is under duress. Nonetheless, his clean-pocket passing and ability to create when his first read isn’t there puts him behind only Kyler Murray as the quarterback to take in this class.

When comparing these last two QB classes, Haskins comes in with the 5th highest passing grade. His 15 turnover-worthy plays this past season are the most among this year’s top QBs and are certainly a cause for concern.

Out of the top-five QBs in this class, Haskins tied for the second-highest accuracy percentage. Out of this group of five, he threw the lowest rate of uncatchable, inaccurate passes. Haskins’ precision is a large reason why he is such an intriguing prospect and worthy of being the second quarterback taken off the board.

Perhaps the biggest flaw in Haskins’ play was his performance when facing pressure. He faltered massively this season when pressure was applied, recording a 56.7 passing grade and the lowest big-time throw rate out of the top QBs in the class.
