2018 Prospect Preview: Troy Fumagalli stands above the rest in the Big 10

  • Wisconsin TE Troy Fumagalli has quietly become one of the best tight ends in the country, as he finished the 2016 season with the highest overall grade (88.1) among all Big Ten tight ends.
  • Now entering his redshirt senior year, Fumagalli improved dramatically last season in comparison to his first two seasons in Madison, for his 88.1 overall grade in 2016 is 18.1 grade points higher than his 2015  grade of just 70.0.
  • A former walk-on with the Badgers, Fumagalli totaled the second-most yards after the catch (249) among returning Big Ten tight ends last season, falling just 33 yards behind Penn State tight end Mike Gesicki.
  • Fumagalli also finished as the No. 2 returning Big Ten tight end in yards per route run, recording 580 receiving yards on 293 snaps in route, averaging 1.98 YPRR.
