  • One of Louisville’s defensive leaders and a Day 2 PFF projection, Stacy Thomas enters the 2017 season as the highest graded returning linebacker in the nation with a grade of 91.2 overall.
  • In his first season as a starting linebacker for the Cardinals, Thomas’ coverage skills were on display all season. He was the second-best returning draft-eligible linebacker by forcing an incompletion on 16.7 percent of his targets.
  • Thomas was stout against the run as well in 2016, as his 12.5 percent run-stop percentage was No. 8 in the nation among returning draft-eligible linebackers.
  • He does have to work on refining his tackling in 2017, the Florida native missed 18 of his 112 career tackle opportunities. His 7.64 tackling efficiency ranked No. 92 among returning draft-eligible LBs in 2016.
