2018 Prospect Preview: Brandon Facyson is a sure-tackler on the boundary

  • Virginia Tech CB Brandon Facyson is as reliable as they come in the ACC outside the hashes, as he ranked No. 3 in tackling efficiency among returning ACC cornerbacks with at least 600 defensive snaps.
  • At 6-foot-2, 197 pounds, Facyson often uses his size to his advantage to shed wide receiver blocks and bring down bigger backs. He has missed just eight tackles in his three-year career with the Hokies.
  • Facyson can elevate his game in 2016 by avoiding giving up the big play in coverage. While he gave up just 33 grabs on 61 throws into his coverage last season, six of them went for longer than 20 yards, and those plays accounted for 41.7 percent of the yards he yielded. He ranked No. 111 in yards allowed per coverage snap (1.27) among draft-eligible cornerbacks last season.
