NFL DFS action in Week 17 is shaping to be quite interesting, as every playoff contender in the NFL has something to play for in the last week of the season with the exception of the Washington Redskins.
This week’s list is a who’s who of former fantasy superstars who have fallen to the depths of the DFS bargain basement, only to try and return to relevance and provide fantasy value in your tournament lineups this weekend. Here’s this week’s top running back and wide receiver punt options.
Running Backs
Frank Gore, Indianapolis Colts- FanDuel $6,600, DraftKings $4,000, Yahoo $21
Any thought of a viable passing game for the Colts should have gone flying through the window this week with the news of Josh Freeman and Ryan Lindley, both picked up off of the scrap heap and making their case start at QB, splitting first team reps in Indianapolis. This should set up well to feature Gore on the ground for the Colts who still happen to have a miniscule chance at making the playoffs if they win this week.
Gore saved his best fantasy performance for Week 16, rushing for 85 yards with two TDs and throwing in two receptions, good for 22.5 Fantasy points on DraftKings. He also has a very consistent workload, averaging no less than 16 touches per game in the last eight contests. On the other side of the ball, Zach Mettenberger has thrown six interceptions in his last four games, which could help boost Gore’s scoring opportunities. Look for him as as solid GPP option on DraftKings this weekend.
