Consensus Rankings Analysis – Week 9

Alex SmithThe PFF Fantasy staff members have tabulated their Week 9 player rankings, and below we take a look inside these rankings.

Quarterbacks

I'm surprised by how high some of the staff has Tony Romo. Yes, he's a good quarterback, tough, with some solid weapons around him. But the team was exposed a little bit with protection against blitzes, and he's hurting, which always carries risk in case the Cardinals rush hits him a bit. I suppose the QB1/2 borderline is okay, but I wouldn't have him in the top 10.

There's been a lot of chatter about how some folks around the Giants organization want to throw deep more instead of the quick-hitting throws that they've been running as of late. However, they just lost their best deep threat, and the jury is still out as to whether the offensive line can even block a more vertical game. Eli has been a quality QB for most of his past several starts, and I don't see that changing coming off a bye. He's rated outside QB1 range, but you can certainly use him as one if need be, in my opinion.
