Keevan Lucas caught all 7 passes deemed catchable thrown to him for 72 yards, while Josh Atkinson caught all 12 catchable passes targeted his way for 131 yards and 1 touchdown as Tulsa used the quick passing game to great success against the Chippewas defense. Tackles Evan Plagg and Willie Wright yielded no pressures while protecting Evans in the passing game.

Tulsa’s defense dominates in win

There were not a lot of highlights coming out of the Beach Bowl for the Chippewas’ offense. Guard Shakir Carr yielded no pressure on 36 passing plays while HB Devon Spalding forced a missed tackle both rushing and passing. Central Michigan fell behind big early in the game and never rebounded.

Central Michigan struggled to get stops against the up-tempo Tulsa offense as the Golden Hurricanes QB Dane Evans efficiently moved the ball against the Chippewas’ defense.
