Ascension Report – Week 6
During the 2014 NFL season, I’ll be doing a weekly series on a select few players who could be in line for an increase in fantasy production that specific week. I’m going to try and stay away from the Peyton Mannings and DeMarco Murrays of the world and instead try to focus on guys who aren’t every week starters. I will choose the players based on a several factors: matchups, injuries, reports from beat writers, and recent trends.
Headed into Week 6, players have at least four games of statistical evidence for the entire NFL—a solid base to use when looking for tendencies. While there are always misses in fantasy football, we should be moving away from boom-or-bust plays and toward guys with solid match-ups and volume potential.
Before heading into Week 6’s highlighted players, let’s take a look at last week. Week 5 saw four of the six highlighted players come through, and two of them were the high point scorers for their respective teams.
