Advanced Targets - Week 9 Wrap
Advanced Targets goes behind the scenes and provides snap and pass route splits in addition to target numbers. Yards per route (YPRR), targets per snap (TA/SN), targets per route (TA/PR), and pass routes per snap (PR/SN) are exclusive PFF metrics that will help inform your start/sit, waiver wire, and trade decisions in a way no other service can.
It would be easy to say Andre Johnson did his best Megatron impression on Sunday, but that would undersell what the Texans star receiver normally brings to the table. With his 13-target, nine-catch, 229-yard performance, Johnson moved back in front of Calvin Johnson in terms of yearly yards per route run. Locked in an essential dead heat, (Andre) Johnson’s 2.86 yards per route is actually below his 2012 level of 3.01, whereas (Calvin) Johnson’s 2.85 is well above his 2.55 mark from the previous season. With apologies to young up-and-comers like Julio Jones, Dez Bryant, and A.J. Green, Andre Johnson is still the second best wide receiver in the NFL.
