Advanced Targets is your weekly destination for target and pass route splits that can be retrieved only from the Pro Football Focus coffers. If you’re in a battle for the playoffs and need the best information available to make waiver wire and trade decisions, you’ll want to know which wide receivers are emerging in terms of yards per pass route (YPRR), targets per snap (TA/SN), targets per pass route (TA/PR), and pass routes per snap (PR/SN).
Nine receivers saw 11 or more targets this past week, and not a single one scored a touchdown. Perhaps that surprising stat becomes more explicable when you consider three of those players suited up for the Arizona Cardinals. Michael Floyd joined his compatriots in the target department this week as part of Arizona's pass-heavy anti-onslaught. Though he was incredibly inefficient with his looks, he did make an acrobatic one hand grab and average the same number of yards per route as Larry Fitzgerald (0.95). Floyd was not the least likely member of the leaderboard, however. Clyde Gates managed 10 targets on only 29 routes, good for one of the best target percentages on the week.
