Advanced Targets - Week 6 Wrap
Advanced Targets goes behind the scenes and provides snap and pass route splits in addition to target numbers. Yards per route (YPRR), targets per snap (TA/SN), targets per route (TA/PR), and pass routes per snap (PR/SN) are exclusive PFF metrics that will help inform your start/sit, waiver wire, and trade decisions in a way no other service can.
The advanced numbers have already helped us to predict breakouts by players like Robert Woods and Keenan Allen this season. In Week 6 Cole Beasley posted one of the year’s most unusual lines. He leads our first subgroup with a 60% target rate and finished with a 100% route rate as well.
After years of wandering in the desert and wasting Tony Romo’s prodigious and largely unappreciated talents, the Cowboys finally appear to be putting together an elite offense that could rival squads like New Orleans, New England, and Denver. Instead of using an early draft pick in a quixotic attempt to find their own Wes Welker, the Cowboys actually followed the historical template that led to the emergence of players like Welker and Danny Amendola. It’s probably too soon to suggest Cole Beasley will become an elite possession threat in the second half of 2013, but he should be added in dynasty formats and watched in all others.
