During the regular season, Advanced Targets will be your home for the most detailed target article on the internet. While many sites can provide targets, PFF Fantasy has the unique ability to give you snaps and pass routes. The intersection of these three stats provides significantly more context than simple targets. In fact, I’ve found a big jump in routes often presages a target breakout. PFF subscribers will mostly field strong teams, leaving you without a priority position on the waiver wire. As a result, picking up that emerging receiver a week before his big breakout is the key to in-season roster building.
This is the Preseason Wrap version of Advanced Targets. As always, be careful about taking preseason results too seriously. In addition to obvious sample size issues, we’re dealing with teams actively trying to disguise their true intentions. For the conclusions that follow, you might as well add “or the exact opposite” to the end of most sentences. In fact, now is probably the time to trade for your favorite player who finished with a quiet preseason.
