With another week comes another top-ten ranking in the Alliance of American Football. We have five new additions to the list, including WR Charles Johnson, QB Garrett Gilbert, EDGE Damontre Moore, S Will Hill III, and WR De’Marcus Ayers. The Orlando Apollos now leads the league with four players in the top ten. Those who have fallen off since last week are DI Joey Mbu, S Orion Stewart, LB Terence Garvin, DI Trenton Thompson, and TE Gerald Christian.

De’Marcus Ayers played his first game of the season in Week 2, and he now has the second-best overall grade (87.2) out of 34 qualifying wide receivers. Ayers caught five of his eight targets for 80 yards and five first downs. He took 96.3% of his snaps from the slot, where he has gained an average of 3.08 yards per route run, ranking second among receivers. Ayers will look to have another great game against the Fleet next week, as they have the lowest team coverage grade (46.2) in the AAF.
Will Hill III is the fourth member of the Orlando Apollos to crack the top-ten, and deservedly so. Hill has played 124 total snaps this season and has yet to miss a tackle attempt, leading to the second-best tackling grade (89.0) out of 21 qualifying safeties. Hill has also played well in coverage, allowing an average of 0.12 yards per cover snap, fourth among safeties with at least 40 coverage snaps.
Jamar Summers is one of only two elite corners in the AAF so far. On average, Summers has allowed a reception once every 31.5 coverage snaps, ranking first out of 29 qualifying cornerbacks. What’s even more impressive is that he has allowed an average of -0.02 yards per cover snap, ranking first among cornerbacks with at least five targets this season. Summers has also allowed a passer rating of 0.0, also ranking first at the position. The term “lockdown-corner” certainly applies to Summers over the first two weeks of the AAF.
