Mychal Kendricks to impress in Week 4 return

The season is well underway and with all teams having now completed three games, the data we use to find the edge in our matchups is beginning to materialize. As I have been doing for the first few weeks of the season, we’ll lean somewhat on the superb research Jeff Ratcliffe is doing by charting the frequency that stat crews around the league award tackles, and assisted tackles.

Jeff’s analysis of the data over the last three years acts as a starting point, but he’s also keeping tabs on how the crews are performing in 2015 as well, so be sure to check in on his weekly article if you’re looking to take your IDP game to the next level.

Jeff’s data strongly suggests that the game to key onto this week is the Eagles trip to Washington, while a Buffalo home game (versus the Giants) is also going to draw our attention too. Below are the top match-ups in Week 4 according to Jeff’s projection model, which has helped him to be the most accurate IDP ranker for each of the last three seasons.

Team Vs. H/A TTs Solo Asst
PHI WAS A 73.3 42.3 31.0
WAS PHI H 67.8 39.1 28.7
NYG BUF A 67.2 48.3 18.9
JAX IND A 67.1 37.7 29.4
IND JAX H 66.3 37.2 29.0
BUF NYG H 65.2 46.9 18.3

We’ll start by looking at the linebackers in this clash of NFC East rivals, as both teams have injuries to deal with that may create some angles for sneaky fantasy plays. The plight of the Eagles duo of Kiko Alonso (knee) and Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) will be well known by most IDP gamers, as both were projected as borderline LB1s heading into the season.
