There’s an old myth in IDP leagues that middle linebackers score better than strong side linebackers. This just simply isn’t true. The key to IDP production at the linebacker position is subpackage snaps. It’s vitally important to be aware of which players see snaps in the base and subpackage defenses.

Each week, we’ll chart how each team deploys their linebackers to give you an edge over the rest of your league.

Of course, there are a ton of situations we need to pay attention to around the league. So here are a few notes on the three-down linebacker chart below.

This will be the first Three-Down Linebacker column of the year, so keep in mind that a lot can change between now and Tuesday. However, based on the preseason usage, here’s how each team projects at linebacker.
