Ivory a huge DFS value in Week 6

Other than causing me major heartbreak and making my wallet lighter, Devonta Freeman has changed the way I approach this weekly article. For weeks I’ve been avoiding him because I didn’t believe in the talent, but whether he’s talented or not, he’s getting a crazy amount of touches and his offensive line is opening huge holes for him.

That’s why I’m changing my approach when looking at PFF’s projected box scores to look at a metric that would’ve had me on Devonta Freeman a lot earlier in the game – salary per touch. By taking Mike Clay’s projections and throwing them in a spreadsheet we can see which players bring the most value a per touch basis.

Quarterbacks

Most bang for your buck – Colin Kaepernick ($5,000)

Everyone is talking about Kaepernick this weekend and for good reason – the Ravens pass defense or pass rush is not great. They are coming off a game where they allowed Josh McCown to throw for 450 yards and saw their only capable pass rusher (Elvis Dumervil) leave with a groin injury.

If you give Kaepernick time to throw he can do damage as we saw last Sunday night against the Giants. We have Kaepernick projected for 19 completions and seven rush attempts, which should be enough opportunity for him to give you plenty of value given his minimum price.
