After dropping four of seven matches this week to maintain a steady foothold on the 5th overall spot atop the Fantasy Throwdown leaderboard and losing 4 -5 falling to fourth overall atop the Fantasy Throwdown leader board we are looking at a few different match-ups that will help our climb back to the top. With too many match-ups to run down player by player we’ll touch on specific players from several games that could help you pull off a Fantasy Throwdown victory this week.
The San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (-2.3) has been some what of a fantasy disappointment this season as has, San Francisco 49ers TE, Vernon Davis (-0.4). However, despite Gates being tied for 8th in touchdown receptions among tight ends, Gates ranks outside the top fifteen in both receptions and yards receiving. The Changers face the Denver Broncos this week and the Broncos are ranked fifth defensively with a PFF rating of (56.7) but if there is a weakness one would be led to believe it resides within the coverage of the linebacking core. With four of five Bronco linebackers, who have participated in over 100 snaps this season having a negative PFF rating and taking into consideration the fact that the Broncos have allowed either a touchdown or 100+ yards receiving in seven of nine games this season. In and earlier week six match-up against the Broncos Antonio Gates managed 2 touchdowns on 6 receptions totally 81 yards. Gates is a favorite of ours this week in any fantasy throwdown match-ups involving the San Diego Chargers.
